KEY INFORMATION

Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust provides district mental health services in Bolton, Salford and Trafford. We also provide substance misuse services in Bolton, Salford, Manchester, Wigan and Leigh, Blackburn with Darwen and Central Lancashire.

The Trust delivers specialist mental health and substance misuse inpatient services to the wider North West and achieved an 'Excellent' for quality of care and 'Excellent' for use of resources in the Healthcare Commission Annual Healthcheck for 2009. We provide services for adults, as well as specialist services for young people. These include daycare, inpatient care and community services.

Greater Manchester mental health wards re-open after £2.4m refurbishment

 

Two hospital wards for adults with mental health problems have been officially re-opened after undergoing a £2.4 million refurbishment programme.

 

K1 and K2 wards  (which will shortly be renamed as Beech Ward and Oak Ward) which form a part of Greater Manchester West Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust’s acute mental health services in Bolton, have reopened after a major programme of works to provide modern and clinically appropriate in-patient facilities and improve the environment for service users.
